Rodrigo Lara Alonso holds degrees in music and Latin American studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, as well as postgraduate degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Indiana University Bloomington. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Rodrigo Lara Alonso founded Sicarú, a highly acclaimed guitar ensemble that has earned multiple top prizes in international competitions. He is affiliated with the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he serves as Director of the Musical Pathway Fellowship and a guitar faculty member at the Academy and the Joint Music Program.
